Designing
MindTouch's
Design System

A year-long journey accomplished by a team of two designers. While we are ever iterating and adapting, this is what we have done so far.

Rewind

When I began my employment at MindTouch nearly two years ago, simple questions about the brand could only be answered ambiguously. And, depending on who I asked, I would even receive different answers.

“Who are we? What’s our style? Who’s our target audience? What’s our voice?”

MindTouch was, at most, described as being the “cool guy” in a room of people—dressed in a pressed suit, yet confidently wore Chucks. I was told that we were sleek with an edge, and to take inspiration from around our office.

There was no documentation. No guidelines. Just a branded color palette, a small asset library, and a lot of work to get done.
